I'm wondering if the problem I have has been resolved with others.

No power light and no charging.

Run through RESET with HP tech on WhatsApp but still no power light. Power button light lights up for 5 seconds then goes out.

The power lead charges my phone. The HP tech is sending me a new charger. I've only had laptop 5 months.

Seems likely to be a dead motherboard I am sorry to say. If your AC adapter will charge your phone I doubt you will see any different behavior using a brand new one.

That's what I think.

HP tech insists on sending me a new charger to see.

Laptop is still under warranty so if this fails they say they'll fix it. 5 months old!

I think that is pretty common for tech support. You at least get a spare charger out of it and who knows? It might work.

Well as I thought new charger cable makes no difference.

Now I've been told that they'll require my laptop as its under warranty to repair it. I'd rather a refund.

They've told me that I need to save the data. I can't do that without switching it on so they've advised me to take it to a IT shop to have them backup my data.

This of course is being paid by me.

Can I do it myself? I think I've a hard drive cage so I'd have to remove the back of laptop.

I'm not happy 😞

HP want me to send laptop to them for repair. I need a ENCLOSURE to transfer my data to my other laptop.

I'll lose my photos otherwise. They are performing a reset.

Any recommendations of a compatible SSD drive enclosure?

Here is the Service Manual:

See p., 34 for how to remove the back cover.

Your drive is an NVME M.2 SSD. You want a USB-C external enclosure for same assuming your other laptop has a USB-C port. If not you want a legacy USB type enclosure.

This one is 15 pounds and comes with both types of cables. Good luck
