So the Win 10 key is in BIOS? Didn’t know that. Not even sure what OS it came with....

So as I can’t clone do I use your link for a bootable and then install and Windows once connected to Internet should check product key in BIOS and activate?

Also I’m thinking now what will the SSD cable be as the current HDD is just a ribbon, what will I need for the SSD?

MS office we bought separate anyway and that’s all has on it.

According to the PC's specs it came with W10 Home, 64 bit.

Correct.  No need to enter any product key, activation will be automatic.

The 2.5" SSD will just go in place of the current mechanical hard drive, and you will use the same connector that goes to the hard drive now.

Be careful removing it.

So helpful thanks a lot.

Just can’t see how the cable will, but I haven’t remove the HDD yet, I will soon to check as will need the cable obviously.

I presume the HDD is sata the same as the SSD?

HP Recommended

That is correct.

You bought this SSD?

If so, it will go right in place of the current drive.  No muss, no fuss.

Yes, any 2.5" SATA SSD will fit right in place of the current drive in there now, including the model you posted.
