After reading your post, I did go through the Product specifications of your product and found that you have AMD Radeon HD 6480G Discrete-Class (up to 1.98 GB total memory) Discrete graphics may refer to a stand-alone graphics card plugged into a motherboard slot. Hence it's not possible on this computer to use the AMD A-Series A8-3510MX Notebook Processor. Click here to know more about Processor

this model is g6-1000. at least it is so featured in the announcement. here is the correspondence on it

This is not possible as the processor is mounted on the motherboard. 

NOTE: HP does not recommend upgrading or downgrading hardware parts or software that is bundled with the product as It may affect the manufacturer's warranty and performance, however, you could change the configuration at your own discretion.

for example... in pavilion g6 case we see the complectation wih a8-3510mx and a8-3530mx(!!!!!). it is possible! maybe in this books installed motherboard DA0R23MB6D1, the only way it is possible

you can try it on your own risk, just ensure the hardware components are meeting the motherboard requirement.

however, the official descriptions do not indicate this
