ALAS! HP has released a new BIOS update providing the option to change the timeout setting once again. It's a shame it took HP this long to actually provide a solution, but I hope it works for everyone.
Thank you so much for the assistance of Ecos_ and Smalls89 throughout this all.

Hey this is good news !
I made the update and all it did was returning me to my old problem, witch is a 15 sec. time out
The option did not show up in my updated bios
But since i still have the file from our good friends Ecoes and Small89, i was able to re-fix my keyboard in a snap.
I think HP does not care about all of there valued customers but just a few lucky ones
I guess a 3k $ laptop does not deserve such a useless option...
Oh and did i mentioned that after this update, the fan started to go very noisy on start up !

Interesting. For which model of laptop is this? The HP Spectre x360 15-da? According to the HP logo on your picture, it's not looking like a Spectre x360...
And what is the bios version number?

While my laptop is the HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec0013dx, I believed this update may have applied across most HP devices. I'm not currently with my laptop so I'm unaware of the BIOS version, but I'll come back later with that.

Hi Gunter
My model is a SPECTER x360-15-df1020ca (almost 3 grand with taxes...)
The bios version is the latest F.22
So no keyboard update for me 😠
But like i said, my problem is solved wih the ''forbidden'' file from our friends 👍

Rob, it is not a bogus file. It works
As i posted before, when i discover i had this issue, i contacted HP support and the technician fixed it over the phone using this file.
Now when i tried helping others with the same issue by providing it, some moderator decided to remove it from this thread.
Why ? well i believe he just wanted to justified his job in some awkward way instead of helping.Go figure...
Just get the file, download it then choose the kbdfix. right click on it and run it as admin. it should work just fine.
Here is the link, just hope M. Moderator does not delete it again
