I suggest that you use the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI utility.

Connect the power adapter  to your laptop.

Press F2 on startup to invoke the Diagnostics.

Go to component tests and then select and run the battery test.

As an alternative, you can invoke the Battery-Report that is part of Windows to see the current state of your battery, in WH or mWh, as compared to its factory designed and delivered storage capacity.

I explained it use in the article at the link below.

Erico,

Ran battery report, full charge capacity is 25209mWh, design capacity is 41050 mWh, which is 61%, not sure if it could be the battery

                                                                                                                                          KINGPIN300800

61% maximum full charge capacity is not a good sign.

At full charge capacity and battery issues occurring, it is likely that the battery is the issue.

If I were you, I would use the PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI utility to run the battery test that is within the Component tests.

Kindly let me know if there is an error code produced.

Are you still able to boot to Windows with the power adapter connected?

The first thing I would do is replace the battery with  a new one.
