I got this HP Paviion laptop a couple of months ago and it just started giving me the counterfeit battery check warning. The battery is original, so it doesn't make sense that I would start getting this message. Also, the battery will not charge past 32% anymore. Help?

Hi @kkn0219,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're receiving a counterfeit battery check warning on your HP Pavilion laptop and experiencing issues with charging, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.
Update BIOS/UEFI Firmware: Ensure that your laptop's BIOS/UEFI firmware is up to date. Manufacturers often release updates that can address battery-related issues. Visit the official HP support website, enter your laptop's model number, and download the latest firmware updates.
Calibrate the Battery: Sometimes, calibrating the battery can help resolve inaccurate battery readings. Here's how you can do it:
- Charge your laptop to 100%.
- Disconnect the power adapter and let the laptop run on battery until it shuts down due to low battery.
- Reconnect the power adapter and charge the laptop again to 100%.
Check Battery Health: Windows 11 has a built-in battery health feature that allows you to check the status of your battery. To access this feature:
- Right-click on the battery icon in the system tray.
- Select "Power Options."
- Click on "Additional power settings."
- Under "Related settings," select "Battery health."
- Review the information about your battery's health.
Uninstall and Reinstall Battery Drivers:
- Press Win + X and select "Device Manager."
- Locate "Batteries" and expand it.
- Right-click on the battery-related drivers and uninstall them.
- Restart your laptop, and the drivers will be reinstalled automatically.
Perform a Battery Report:
- Open a command prompt as an administrator.
- Type powercfg /batteryreport and press Enter.
- This will generate a battery report in HTML format. Open the report and check for any issues or anomalies.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-
