Hi,
I recently bought an HP ENVY Notebook, and I updated my windows edition to Windows 10.
I noticed 2 weeks ago that my battery is not working anymore. It is not charging : Its says "plugged in, charging" but its not charging.
now my battery is empty, (its says 3%) and my "new" laptop , who is only 2 months, does not turn on unless it is plugged in.
Do you have a solution for my problem ??
ps: I tried to uninstall and reinstall the battery drivers from device manger, but nothing happened !!
Is this a windows update problem or a battery problem, although my laptop has only 2 months ?
Thank you for your help !!

Hi there @Rodgee,
Welcome to the HP Support Community where you can ask questions, find solutions and get help from others in the community! I wanted to reach out to you and help! I understand that your battery will not charge on your HP ENVY Notebook PC. You mentioned that you tried to uninstall and reinstall drivers and are not sure if it is an issue with the Battery of Windows Updates.
Please make sure that the AC adapter cable is not plugged into a power strip, surge protector, or secondary power source. It should be directly into a wall outlet.
There are a couple of documents that you can use to try and figure out where the issue is. The first one I would suggest is the Battery Does Not Power Notebook or Hold a Charge document. If your notebook computer battery will not hold a charge, you are best to follow the instructions in this document step by step to troubleshoot the battery and see if it needs to be replaced.
You can also use the Testing and Calibrating the Battery (Windows 😎 document. This will help you to determine the condition of your battery.
Have you tried to use the HP Support Assistant to download drivers and updates? Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that needs updating.
Did this reply resolve your issue or answer your question? If yes, then please share the good news! Let others know this reply was helpful by clicking the Accept as Solution button. You can also show your appreciation by clicking the Thumbs Up.

Thank you!
Have a great day! 🙂

Hey,
Thank you for getting back to me! If the battery test said that the battery failed and your Notebook is only 2 months old, you can use the Warranty Checker to check the warranty status of the Notebook. Then please use the following link to create yourself a case number:
Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click on HP contact options - click on Get phone number
Case number and phone number appear.
They will be happy to assist you immediately.
I hope this helps!
