Product: hp stream 11 y020wm

I received this laptop when I was a sophomore in high school from my mom. it was a Christmas gift. But ever I open it Christmas 2017 it hasn't worked properly. I contacted hp many before my warranty was and they claimed that they were going to send me a box to get it fixed. It never happened., So I gave up. My mom put this laptop on layaway and paid as much as she could  as much as possible so its special to me. and now that I'm a senior and with this corona  virus going on this is my only option but I need a battery replacement and I don't what to do my warrant was up in December of 2018. when I turn it on it says code 601 and I cant use it without the charger and it says plugged in but not charging, I just need some advice on how to get the battery replaced  since my warranty is expired

I don't know.

 

The example I gave is for Australia, no idea where in the world you actually are, 'cept your phrasing suggests US of A.

 

I am in the UK, and will not be able to give any advice on what battery is locally available to you.
