HP ProBook 430 G6 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

i just got this pc HP ProBook 430 G6 - i5-8265U and it has what looks like the fingerprint scanner on it located below the down arrow

it is not in the device manager

i downloaded the drivers but they did not turn on the sensor

hp shows it in the parts section however this pc may have come with the sensor but may be missing the cable  https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06510344

item 7

how can i tell if it actually has the parts to run the sensor and i just did not get the correct driver

or might i have to take the back off and look for the sensor and cable to make sure they are really there? it seems if the panel shows the sensor them part of it is on the pc.  thanks

Fingerprint sensor is an option. the sensor comes with cable. No point to have the sensor w/o the cable. If you wish, you can by pars on page 21 of the following manual

ok i did find the biometrid senso in that manual yuou sent on page 24, i also took the bottom off to see what drive it has and it has the m.2 drive so i'm going to get a 512gb or larger m.2 drive for it.

if anyone has a handle on a biometric sensor/fingerprint sensor please send it along. i did look in hp parts and found the sensor but i did not see how to get one from them. but amazon or even ebay will work for me.

as long as the bottom is off i can install one easy.  thanks

ok i found the parts list  the part number is    fingerprint sensor cable is available in the Cable Kit using spare part number L44509-001   for the cable kit or   L44516-001 for the senor  alone. thanks
