HELLO, I have an elitebook 840 g1 which began to heat up and make higher noise than precedent, I installed HP assistant with which I installed pilots updates among them the update of bios, after this update, the computer takes a long time to start and after the start it works very slow, I controled the performance in the task manager and I found that the processor is in 100% even that Iam not launched any application!
what should I do please?

Your older business class computer can make use of the Softpaq Download Manager to manage your HP Updates. SDM knows how to install software and updates for your computer, including the BIOS (which can be fussy and sensitive about how it is installed).
In other words, your business class computer need not use the HP Support Assistant to update your HP software and drivers.

Business class computers support a robust, comprehensive software tool for updating and managing HP Software and Drivers: Softpaq Download Manager (SDM)
HP SoftPaq Download Manager (SDM)

Fix the slow boot
If the slow boot issue is tied in someway to how the BIOS or another update was applied to the computer - and assuming everything is actually OK with the actual file system, the following procedure may clear any issues.
This procedure will not break a healthy computer. IF the computer has other underlying issues, has developed a hardware fault, if the computer file system is corrupted, this procedure will not help and may, in fact, make the problem appear worse.
This procedure is not of my own invention, by the way, this is an HP recommended process to help clear certain types of boot issues.
Essentially, the process forces the computer to boot from the Operating System that is on-disk as opposed to depending on any settings in the computer memory that might be used to quickly boot the computer.
“Press and Pray”
IF a BIOS update is just stuck / stubborn / frozen-in-place half way through the update / boot process,
If there are boot issues that prevent a complete or clean boot of the Operating System,
IF there is not actually anything wrong with the windows installation or the File System,
The following procedure might resolve the issue.
- Unplug everything, including power and all other externally connected components
- Press and hold down the power button for forty (40) seconds
- Release the power button
- Plug in only basic components –
- Desktop: Power, wired mouse and keyboard, HDMI to monitor (monitor is powered on)
- Notebook: Connect AC Power
- Switch on the system with power button - Click power and release (as for normal boot)
Hoped for Results:
- System switches on, monitor active, mouse and keyboard responsive
If the issue was a "stuck" BIOS update:
- Screen shows the BIOS update window with choices: cancel / update
- Wait several seconds; stare at it and contemplate actions. (The process will continue on its own after about 10-20 seconds)
- BIOS update continues on its own, completes, and reboots the system
When the system reboots,
- Connect LAN (Ethernet)
- Connect other components (USB, external webcam, speakers...)
- General housekeeping (checks, more staring at it)

@Dragon-Fur,
Thank you for your answer, I am really surprised by the boot speed, I really appreciate it.
but the problem I still have is that the my pc does not react very well, it's slow, and the CPU used in the task manager is often in 100% without any software launched.
any suggestions please?

It sounds like whatever was wrong originally is still plaguing the system.
Run-Away Process
Ordinarily the Resource Monitor would be able to help you determine which process is spinning and causing the processor to run at 100%.
Tip: Command-Line Options for Faster Access to Performance Data (perfmon /res)
How to use the Resource Monitor in Windows
For example, if a process (program) is "running rogue", that is, running out of control and stealing all the available processor resources, the Resource Monitor can help you find the name of the process.
If you find the offending process, there might be options, including killing it (assuming it is not system critical).
The issue might be caused by failing hardware.
If the problems are caused by failing hardware, run the tests to isolate the trouble spots.
HP PCs - Testing for Hardware Failures
NOTE: The 24-digit failure code is used by HP to pinpoint component failures. We (our community) have no access to the internal details - this means if the processor, the disk, the keyboard, or another component fails the hardware test and you are told this is the case, we cannot provide useful additional information.
Failed Hardware - Fix the computer
The computer is old enough that it is no longer under warranty.
If you wish to do so and you have the required skill set, much of what can be fixed "in house" can also be fixed at home. Business class systems have always been built to allow the unit to be repaired by the consumer, by an HP field representative, or by the company IT department.
The tools you need, the parts list, and the procedures to fix your computer are provided in the Maintenance and Service Guide located in Category User Guides.
Ask HP for Help
If you decide to contact HP Technical Support, know that HP can repair the computer. There is a fee for the service. When you open the case, explain the problem, provide any error codes, and indicate you are willing to pay for repairs.
