Hi @biniam1

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like you're dealing with keyboard malfunctions and an unresponsive power button on your HP computer. Let's tackle both issues:

Fixing the Broken Keys

Check for Physical Damage

  • If the keys are stuck or physically damaged, a keyboard replacement may be necessary.
  • Try an external keyboard to see if the issue persists.

Run the Keyboard Troubleshooter

  • Go to Control PanelTroubleshootingHardware and SoundKeyboard.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.

Update or Reinstall Keyboard Drivers

  • Open Device Manager (Win + X → **Device Manager`).
  • Expand Keyboards, right-click your keyboard, and select Update driver.
  • If updating doesn’t work, select Uninstall device, restart your PC, and let Windows reinstall it.

Fixing the Power Button Issue

Force Shutdown

  • Press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds to force a shutdown.
  • If the button is completely unresponsive, disconnect the charger, remove the battery (if removable), wait a few minutes, then reconnect the battery and try turning it on.

Check Power Settings

  • Go to Control PanelPower OptionsChoose what the power button does.
  • Ensure the Shutdown option is selected.

Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn off the laptop, unplug the power cable, and remove the battery (if removable).
  • Hold down the power button for 30 seconds to drain residual power.
  • Reconnect the battery, plug in the power cable, and try turning on the laptop.

Try these steps and let me know if you need further assistance! 🚀
