can I replace 4-in-1 color cartridge (HP9018e) with black cartridge only (HP 962)?

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

 

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9018e All-in-One Printer uses four separate cartridges: one each for black, cyan, magenta, and yellow. While you can replace the black cartridge independently if it runs out, you cannot replace the entire 4-in-1 color cartridge setup with only a single black cartridge. Each color requires its own cartridge—HP 962 Black, HP 962 Cyan, HP 962 Magenta, and HP 962 Yellow—to ensure proper printing function.

 

To maintain optimal print quality and printer functionality, all four cartridges must be installed. If you'll need to continue printing in black and white only, you can replace the black cartridge with the HP 962 Black cartridge and leave the other color cartridges installed with adequate ink levels.
