Is it possible to upgrade my core to an i5 my current core is an Intel pentium gold (R) 7505 and i wanted more clock speed than my current hyperthreaded 3.5 GHz. I can only afford the intel core I5 that is 12th gen and it can push out more GHz than my current CPU at a rate of 4.5GHz. I just want to know if its possible to to put an i5 into the 885C without having to swap my motherboard out for one built for that CPU

Hi:

The processor your notebook has is an integral part of the motherboard.

The only way to upgrade the processor would be to replace the motherboard with one listed in chapter 3 of your notebook's service manual that may come with a better processor.

Intel processors have been integral parts of the motherboards since the 5th gen core processors were released to market several years ago.
