Hello @Eyad10 ,

Welcome to the HP community.

This is just a Peer-to-peer community forum and not HP Support. We are all just Volunteers.

BIOS recovery tools and utilities are predominantly Windows-based, so that should not surprise you.

If no other volunteers reply, I suggest you contact the HP Support organization in your region. Details are in my Signature.

Best Regards

Steffen Baier

@Eyad10,

 You can create a BIOS recovery usb drive and update the BIOS from the usb drive outside of the OS.

A BIOS recovery usb drive, that contains an HP BIOS flash utility and BIOS files, is not bootable, so you need to use the key press combination method to boot the system to update the BIOS from the usb drive.

Click the link below and go to '3. Manually Recover the BIOS' then to 'Recover the BIOS Using a USB Recovery Drive' for how to update the BIOS with a usb drive.

This Linux user updated the BIOS from a BIOS recovery usb drive.

Post back with the full model number or product number of your notebook if you need a BIOS file.

A BIOS recovery usb drive, when the system is booted using a key press combination, tries to recover the BIOS outside of the OS. You can try to see if it works for you.

You need a Windows PC to run a BIOS file (spxxxxx.exe) to create a recovery usb drive that contains a BIOS flash utility and BIOS files (bios .bin file and signature file).

The BIOS recovery system has a limited hardware support. Use a usb drive with a small capacity. A usb 2.0 drive with 4 or 8 GB will work well. If a recovery fails, use an older version of a BIOS file and try again.

This recovery process doesn't guarantee a successful recovery.  If it doesn't work, the corruption of the BIOS may be beyond repair (e.g. if a BIOS boot block is seriously damaged, the recovery usb drive may not be able to fix it).

Regarding your previous comments, my guess is that since HP doesn't support Linux, they don't provide any sort of help. That's unfortunate for Linux users.
