Hi  @Jimane

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that certain keys on your HP EliteBook keyboard are not responding as expected. I’ll be glad to help you work through this.

To better assist you, could you kindly share the following details?

  • Are the affected keys physically grouped together or are they scattered across the keyboard?
  • Are the same keys unresponsive in the BIOS menu or HP Hardware Diagnostics, or only within Windows?
  • Have you tried using an external USB keyboard, and if so, does it work normally?

In the meantime, kindly try the following steps:

  1. Restart the notebook and test the keyboard immediately after startup.
  2. Connect an external USB keyboard to determine whether the issue is isolated to the built-in keyboard.
  3. Run the HP Hardware Diagnostics Keyboard Test: Click here for steps
    • Turn off the notebook.
    • Power it on and repeatedly tap F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
    • Select Component Tests > Keyboard and run the test.
  4. Reinstall the keyboard driver:
    • Open Device Manager.
    • Expand Keyboards.
    • Right-click the keyboard device and select Uninstall device.
    • Restart the computer and allow Windows to reinstall the driver automatically.
  5. Check for Windows Updates and install any pending updates.
  6. If available for your model, update the BIOS and chipset drivers from HP Support.
