OMEN by HP - 17-an180nz
Microsoft Windows 11

My laptop sometimes does not charge when connected to a power source.

When I start recharging the PC the orange LED turns on and immediately afterwards it turns off without charging the PC.

I thought the problem was with the charger, took it to a technician and he told me it works perfectly.

What can I do?

Does the power/charge LED on your Omen notebook light up?

What exactly did the technician say worked perfectly?

The technician said that the charger works and has no problem.

When I plug in the charger the LED lights up orange but after a few seconds it turns white and the computer no longer charges.

If with the power adapter connected,  and even if there are LEDS lit, the notebook will not power on and boot to Windows, HP's troubleshooting guides say that it means that the power adapter has failed.

I note that you have described a problem with charging the battery, but does the notebook power on and boot to Windows?

That is one specific thing you have not mentioned and it is important to know.

Yes the comuter turns on and works, this problem occurs not constantly, sometimes it manages to load the PC.

So sometimes it charges fine and sometimes it takes me more than 2 hours to get it to charge

Use the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI utility from within Windows or from the F2 on powering up.

Use the Component tests to see if:

1) the battery has issues. You may see an error code.

2) the system board has problems. (there is a charging circuit on the system board)

3) the power adapter is OK.

From what I have seen in the HP Product Content Browser, you battery has been in use for perhaps two or more years.

Chances are high that your battery may need to be replaced with a new one in order to return your notebook to the normally expected operating state.

The battery was changed last week.

Do yourself a favor and perform the tests I described and report on the results.

These are the results that come out of the component tests

Interesting.

I still suspect the battery.

The battery should charge to full much quicker than you reported.

Did you run the long test or the quick test on the main battery?

There is a significant difference in accuracy and the time to completion between the two test versions.
