HP Notebook 17

My laptop obviously has a defective right hinge.  When closing the lap top it started to "catch" on the right hand side and press against the bottom corner, forcing the back casing off.  Therefore the lap top can no longer be closed.  This lap top is not quite a month out of warranty so it is not covered.  However, an issue like this should not occur when the laptop has not been mishandled or roughly handled.  I have a lap top that I used in the early 90's that traveled with me back and forth to work for several years that never had hinge issues.  I'm so frustrated because the in-warranty team cannot help me because it's out of warranty.  The out of warranty teams resolution is for my to pay $279 to get the lap top hinge fixed.  This is absolutely ludicrous since I have taken care of this lap top and not treated it roughly.  A lap top should be able to be opened and closed for well over a year and not have the hinges stop working correctly.  I have a laptop from the 90's that doesn't have any hinge issues.  I have two other older Dell laptops that I used prior to this one.  The only reason I purchased a new lap top is because I needed  a better operating system.  My husband got me the Notebook 17 because it had all of the features I wanted (large screen, cd-rom drive, several usb ports, a "fast" usb port, an hdmi port, etc).  However, I'm so disgusted that it's obvious there is a defect with the hinge and I'm getting a complete run around and no reasonable resolution to my problem. HP is not standing by their product at all.  My husband has an HP laptop, I have this piece of junk HP Notebook, we own a HP desktop, an HP printer, and two older HP laptops that we stopped using because they don't have enough RAM and the operating systems and speed are too slow to use the internet or the other online apps we need to use. However, physically they both look brand new, just as my   newer Notebook 17 does the only difference is they are still mechanically sound and my  "new and better" piece of garbage Notebook 17 has a defective hinge that HP refuses to make right because I'm out of warranty.   Any advice that could resolve my problem - meaning helping me to get the defective hinge fixed, even though I'm just out of warranty, without affording my a bill of $279 would be greatly appreciated.

I have replied to your email using the link but when I go to submit I'm told to correct the high lighted errors.  However, I didn't see anything high lighted so I changed some of what was in the response window and resubmitted.  I did this 2-3 time and then received a message that I submitted to many messages and may not do so again.

Am unable to submit response for your request about model, serial # etc.

The right side hinge is catching and not closing properly.  Due to this issue the laptop cannot be closed,  I had closed it a couple of times and closing it caused the back right corner of the case to separate a bit from the casing around the keyboard.  I have not used this laptop in any manner that should have caused this to happen.  It just all of a sudden wasn't closing properly one day.  I am the only person who uses this lap top and I'm completely disappointed that I'm being treated like I have done some wrong.  The original warranty for this laptop expired March 31, 2021.  As of today I am only 21 days out of warranty.  This issue started occurring  around April 10th or 11th.  I'm not sure why, it just started happening.  As previously stated, this computer has never been dropped, roughly handled or in any way used in a manner that it should not be.
