Hi, @st2510

There is no W10 driver listed for that hardware ID on your notebook's support page.

You need to use the W8.1 driver for the JMicron SD card reader...

The JMicron Media Card Reader Driver enables the integrated media card slot in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system.

which tells you what hardware you have.

click "change" to your operating system, and then expand the "Driver-Storage" section, to see "Alcor Micro Smart Card Reader Driver".

Define "forever".  :generic:

It could be your anti-virus software, automatically scanning all of the files on the memory-card, whenever a "new volume" is detected.

It could be your Disk Defragmenter software, which might be configured to "automatically defragment each new volume".

How many files?  What is the combined size (Megabytes) of the files on the memory-card?

How many seconds before it was finished?

What is the storage capacity of the memory-card?

What is the manufacturer of the memory-card?

Some card-readers will not read memory-cards containing more than 16GB.

Some have a limit of 32GB.

Details, please.

It's 8 GB Kingston.

I'll try to get the new Micro SD mem and retest again.

Thank you so much,

Sanag
