When I install SSD Samsung 850 EVO 2TB, will I have the benefit of SATA 3? Or do I need other drivers or software?

Hi:
The Intel series 7 chipset supports sata III, and I believe the dv7-7xxx model series have the drive connected to the sata III port.
However, the BIOS is set to RAID, not AHCI.
Install the latest version of the Intel RST driver for TRIM support in RAID mode.
The W8.1 driver from Intel will work on W10.

There are no adjustments that can or will be made to the drive controller setting in the BIOS by you or any software.
It is set to RAID and cannot be changed by any means.
Just install the SSD and install the RST driver. I believe you need this one...you want the 3rd file down on the left side of the page

Here is a post that explains your situation...it pertains to all HP notebooks set in RAID mode with an Intel series 7 or newer chipset.
