Respected Mr. Banhien,
I am facing issue with my elitebook 8560w.
As i tried to turn it on from sleep mode it just did not restarting and not showing any display either.
No beeps but the caps lock and Num lock keyps keep blinking almost 4 to 5 times and then fan starts and nothing goes further..
i tried removing rams and HD one by one and tried to restart but the conditions are not changed.
Please advise as appropritate how to resolve the issue asaP.

Hi,
I have the same problem youre describing on my elitebook 8650w
It appears we are not alone, there are lots of posts on the nternet about htis problem.
Nowhere, not even on the official forums - is there any response from hp in this matter.
Id like to see some more support for such expensive hardware.
If you found any sulotion, would you be so kind to post an answer yourself here please?
I doubt HP will answer anything to your question but maybe youve found a solution somewhere.
in any case, good luck with that problem - hope you find and post a fix. 🙂

Bro it is simple ... it is kind of rom settings gone twisted...
Just remove the on board battery and battery pack both and power directly from the power adapter and keep the power button fom the keyboard pressed for at least 30 seconds ...
it will reset the rom settings to default ... now you put the on board battery and battery pack into their resppective places and try restart your elitebook normally ... hope it will start behaving normally again..:smileyvery-happy:

That procedure is the first thing you find anywhere if you look for problems like that.
I already knew about this procedure.
I tried it ofcourse, it doesnt work.
I also tried relocating ram,cleaned and re-did the thermal paste, cleanded everything for dust bridges.
i took out the video board to have the contacts reseated, maybe the slot it was in stopped making good contact..
It all doesnt work.
The thing is, on a cold boot - it does show display and boots into windows for 20 seconds, then the display just turns off, not even a backlight.
You would think hp would help you with your expensive high quality laptop, but hey - hp sold you the laptop and after that you as a costumer can jump off a bridge for all they care. they only would be intrested in your problem if they can sell you a navigation device to find the bridge.
I have been trying to get help from hp for like 6 months. not a single peep.
Ive gone through this before, when i was foolish enough to buy a hp build pc for myself,years ago - a poorly build machine with electronic part all over the mobo just getting fried, damaging my video card and harddisk , turned out the parts used on the mobo were failing so bad because power regulation was not working properly.
HP used an untested mobo, and after they sold it and it broke and damaged other products i couldnt get any help or support. just like now, not a single peep.
The machine i made this post for is a friends machine, and he spend a good buck onit.
HP rolls out the red carpet for you when you are looking to buy, but after the fact - service?
Well, if you pay then maybe.
Now you wouldnt expect that of a company the size of hp, but im telling you they and their products are complete rubbish and very overpriced.
If you dont know how to build one yourself then you're better off going to your local parts dealer and ask him/her to build you a machine- it will be cheaper, run faster, and aftersale services will be better, lots.
And if you ever need to contact your seller for support, you wont be speaking to some indian guy on some helpdesk on the other side of the world who wants to run his entire script by you because its company policy, eventhough youve walked the walk about 20 times and then end up getting told you need to contact your local hp dealer because youre not in india, and didnt buy the premium service package.
The local dealer then refuses to help you and points you to that helpdesk again.
Not an incident, this is how hp does its trading around here.
it so bad that it almost seems criminal.

I've had a few HP Laptops, and seen a few similar problems. I just fixed one that was similar but not exactly the same, so I thought I would post it here in case it helps others with various similar symptoms.
My laptop (8560p) started booting, then turned off. I was sometimes able to see something on the display. I had tried the unplugging batteries, holding down the power button etc to reset BIOS to factory defaults, but it did not work. Odly, what worked for me was to press escape to go into BIOS, choose defaults, then save and exit, shutdown, then turn on again. Curiously, it started booting and Windows said "Installing Updates", so I wonder if it was a corrupted BIOS or confused Windows Updates, or a combination of the two.
