i just plugged in a replacement power supply  (i made sure of its compatibility) because the one it came with died  (the laptop was refurbished and bought in '17, power supply died in '19, sounded like bacon frying and wouldn't charge the laptop, only just recently managed to afford the replacement).

 

for about an hour it did alright, then it just crashed, screen blacked out,cant get anything going, the lights on the front edge for power and turned on stay lit, caps lock flashes on and off like the ticking of a fast clock, scroll lock stays on but blinks.

 

i unplugged it, took out the battery, put the battery back in, and all of this is still the same,  what is going on and can i fix it?
