Will the Envy 15 as020nr work with 16GB memory modules? In particular, will the Viper module from Patriot work (16GB 2666 1.2V DDR4)? The biggest the manual lists is 8Gb (2133 1.2V DDR4). (P/N 820448-858)

The correct answer is YES. This computer will support 16GB memory modules. It is possible to mix the included 8GB module with a 16GB module to get 24GB system. It will be necessary to remove and replace one of the 8GB modules.

Hi @RickA,
Thank you for your inquiry. I understand you would like to know if your system will support a single 16GB memory chip The short answer is no. Your system will support 16GB of ram but in this configuration (8192 MB × 2) as the manual states. HP ENVY Notebook PC (model numbers 15- as000 through 15-as099) Maintenance and Service Guide Please see chapter 1, page 1 "Memory" .

The solution is only half answered. The question regarding the mt/s data rate was not answered.
A) will 2400 data rate memory work in the original slot that used 2133 memory? Will the motherboard accept it? I think that is what the poster was asking. We all know you can mix 8gb and 16gb.
