Hi:

What shows up under the Human Interface Devices category?

I think that is where W10 puts the fingerprint sensor.

I also think you have to use the W10 HP client security manager software for your notebook, not the Simplepass software to work the fingerprint sensor.

HP Client Security Manager provides enhanced Windows login and website single-sign-on capabilities. Security Manager is also the host for HP Client Security plugins, and therefore should be installed before other Client Security modules. This package is provided for supported computer models that are running a supported operating system.

Hi:

I don't see it listed in the device manager anyplace.

It is not one of those unknown devices either.

Unfortunately, I don't know what happened to the fingerprint sensor as a result of the upgrade, and wouldn't be able to help you with that.

Windows 10 will add the FingerPrint Sensor under then "Biometric devices" section, which is missing in your screenshot.

FingerPrint.jpg

(Note: Screenshot taken from an HP 850 G1!) So I assume its not recognized by the PC. Are you using the legacy bios or UEFI (you might wish to change that, see here and here and give it a try). The two "other devices" in your screenshot are somehow a little bit strange. Can you check if you installed all Windows 10 drivers / Firmware (check here) and confirm if they disappeared after that? The SMS/MMS Other device seamed to be related to Bluetooth (see here). So if the updated drivers didn´t solve your issue I think a reinstallation from Bluetooth might be an option (or you might disable that fully in the bios and check if that will help solving your issue if you do not need Bluetooth).
