g6 250 notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to upgrade the SSD, however, I was unsure if my g6 250 will support a 1tb SSD, this is the one I was considering buying, WD Blue 3D NAND Internal SSD 2.5 Inch SATA - 1 TB.

Hi,

You say you want to upgrade the SSD in the notebook. If the notebook already has an SSD it means it has an M2 SSD inside and you will need to replace with an M2 SSD such as the M2 Samsung 860 Evo or similar. In that case the 2,5" WD SSD you mentioned will not work.

Examples:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073SB2MXT/ref=twister_B07BXC53V5?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Now, if there is no SSD in the system and you want to replace a regular hard drive with an SSD, you can use any 2,5" SSD SATA 3 SSD such as the one you linked.

Hope it helps,

David

There are few generations and configurations of HP 250 G6. The following SSD's are for the machines which use DDR4 RAM
