Example: Pavilion 2226
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)

I have some unallocated space and want to add the volume to drive C. But I am unable to extend the volume as the 'extend volume' option has been greyed out. Kindly suggest how can I extend the volume to C drive. I am using Windows 8 single language 64bit OS.

There are differnet reasons for Extend Volume Grayed out

Below are few situations where a "Extend Volume" will not work:

1.If there is no unallocated or free space on hard disk or the space is not contiguous and after the partition which needs extending.
2.Users want to extend a primary partition, but there is just a free space right after the target partition.
3.if the partition is not a NTFS partition. As per Microsoft extending volume feature in Disk Management only works to a raw or NTFS partition.

Try using MiniTool Partition Wizard which can help you with the issue.
