Pavilion 15 ab254sa
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am using  Pavilion 15 ab254sa. Windows 10 (64-bit),  Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6200U CPU @ 2.30GHz 2.40 GHz. 8gb ram.

Am i able to replace my hard drive with NVMe  SSD drive? Or which is the best type of  internal storage I can use  to speed up my computer.   Thank you

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

 

HP Pavilion Notebook (Intel)Star WarsTM Special Edition Notebook Maintenance and Service Guide

 

Chapter 1 has the supported drive types.

 

Only SATA drives are supported, even if your notebook has a M.2 slot.

 

On those earlier models, even though the manual indicates there is a M.2 slot, open up the PC first and confirm the slot is there before buying a M.2 SATA SSD.

 

If there is no M.2 slot, you can always replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD and the performance will be exactly the same between two of the same brand SSD's, be they 2.5" or M.2.
