Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

Hard to answer your question, since you're not providing us any useful details ...

But, if I had to guess, it would be that you are running Win10 and using the default Win10 Browser -- Edge.

This is a KNOWN problem with folks using the default Win10 Browser -- EDGE!

So much so, that this Microsoft thread discusses options for dealing with this issue: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/apps_windows_10-msedge/unable-to-download-exe-file...

This is one of the reasons I abandoned Edge on all my Win10 PCs and switched over to using Internet Explorer a long time ago.

IF the switch to IE works for you, then consider making it the default instead of Edge by following these instructions: http://www.tenforums.com/installation-setup/6310-how-reset-ie-default-browser-instead-edge.html

Good Luck

yes it's windows 10(sorry about that. kitty decided to learn to type, if you get my meaning).  So then it can be done? The reason i need it is that my fiancee had CO2 poisoning a few years back and is still re learning to spell, read, etc. and windows is proving harder for him to use than android. Plus certain apps in goggle store that help teach him aren't available in the windows store. So all the help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, but your additional comments leave me confused about what it is you want to do ...

Is it the Chrome Browser that you are trying to install on your PC?

Or is it the Android OS that you are trying to install?

These are VERY DIFFERENT processes.

We can proceed when you provide the information.

Thanks

I use Google's Browser all the time -- but I had major problems trying to use Chrome in Win10, so I switched to using Chromium.

You get Chromium from here: http://chromium.woolyss.com/#top

Under Windows 10,8,7, then under 2. Chromium for 64-bit ... , go down to the second set of entries -- that say Installer - Archive - Portable (+ updater)

Then, click the "Archive" link.

This will download chrome-win32.zip file

Find that file in your downloads folder and extract the contents. This will generate a folder named chrome-win32

Copy that entire folder to your Windows/Program Files directory.

Open that folder, right-click on chrome.exe and select the option to create a shortcut.

Drag that shorcut to your desktop.

When you click on it, it will launch Chromium.

I don't believe that you can actually install Android in Windows because it is an actual OS.  But, there are ways to run Android apps in Windows -- if that is what you want to do.    You need to use an Android Emulator to do that, and here is a thread discussing several of them:  http://windowsreport.com/best-android-emulators-windows-10/

Good Luck
