The first thing you need to do is to let us know the full model number or product number of your notebook.

To find the product number or your notebook, click on the search icon on your Windows taskbar.

Type: System Information

The System information app should show up.

Run the app and the product number of your notebook will be found on the System SKU line about 1/4 of the way down on the report.

Based on the product number you posted; you have a HP 17-cn0693ds notebook PC.

Notebooks with the Intel Celeron N4120 processors have one memory slot and the slot supports 1 x 8 GB of DDR4 memory according to Intel:

Intel® Celeron® Processor N4120

However, I am pretty sure that a single 16 GB DDR4 memory chip will work.

See this related discussion regarding other HP notebooks that come with that processor:

HP only has the service manual for the newer model series, but it still should work to help you open up the notebook to replace the memory.

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, all I can do is to give you the service manual to read, which I posted in my previous reply.

That's the best we can do.

Chapter 4 has the tools required.

Chapter 5 has the memory removal and replacement procedure.

The hardest part of the job will be removing the bottom cover of the notebook.

If you don't feel comfortable doing the work yourself after reading the service manual, I recommend that you take your notebook to a local PC repair shop where they have the tools, knowledge, skills and ability to upgrade the memory.

Here are links to the recommended 8 GB or 16 GB memory chips to order, if you want to experiment with a 16 GB memory chip.
