Hi,
Firstly: does your machine have backlit keyboard ? If YES then try this:
Holding down the Fn key and tap the Spacebar once...that enables (and also disables) it.

Hi,
You do not know backlit keyboard, that means your machine does not have a backlit keyboard. Backlit keyboard has lights underneath such as the one on the following machine (wait for 20 seconds):

If your machine did have backlit keyboard, just use my previous reply to turn it ON or OFF.

No, no driver can fix this. It is a hardware option and you have to pay to get it. Too late for your machine now !
