So the HP Notebook 17-by0062st has 8GB of memory and because it's very slow I want to give it more.
My wife plays games on it and has sometimes 40 tabs open with whatever has her interest but then she leaves it behind for too long. Coming back it is terribly slow or we have to make it restart.
It has two slots. Does it support twice 16GB?
I can't find this in the manual.
And do I buy SODIMM DDR3 or DDR4 memory?
So, what are the specifications for this notebook's memory?
Happy with your help.

Thanks for your answer.
But I found more with the following so I know what the real Max Memory is:
Type WIN+R simultaneously
Then cmd <return>
Then at the prompt : wmic memphysical get maxcapacity <return>
I got the answer:
MaxCapacity
33554432
Worked on Windows 10. The answer is in Kilo Bytes.

Hi:
Chapter 1 of the service manual indicates the max memory is 2 x 8 GB.
You would use DDR4-2400 memory in your notebook.
HP 17 Laptop PC Maintenance and Service Guide
The Crucial memory report for your model notebook indicates the same...
Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | hp - compaq | hp 17-by series | HP 17-by0062st | Crucial.com
Normally notebooks that have the Intel 8th gen core processors can support 2 x 16 GB of memory, but since I cannot find any proof of 32 GB of memory working in your notebook's model series, I cannot recommend you gamble on it unless you can return the memory for a refund.
If the notebook supports 32 GB of memory, this would be a compatible 16 GB memory chip.
