Here is the Maintenance & Service guide

See ch 3 pg 20, item 21

The compatible batteries are:

Battery
4-cell, 41-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion 807957-001  -- this one has higher capacity and will provide longer mobile use time
3-cell, 31-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion 807956-001

Hi  there is 3 of the 807957-001 batteries one that is 10v and two that is 14 v

look at this link and it has both on there with the 807957-001 10v and 14v

HP 807957-001 - BattDepot Canada

there is 2 of the 14v and 1 of the 10v  and all say for 807957-001

so this is what i am asking about

which one of these?

Thanks

The 807957-001 battery actually has 14.8 v not 10V.

The one you asked about has a typo. It is supposed to be 14.8v.

Choose the one on the far left. That is a seriously good price.

The one the right does have higher capacity but it is considerably larger than the original battery and will bulge a bit out when installed.

I suspect that BattDepot Canada has some of its HP part numbers incorrectly matched to batteries.

An HP part numbered battery is required to  have  precise specifications in order to use the HP part number, not differing specifications as this vendor is showing.

That would be a red flag to me.

I would look for another vendor.

Please kindly note that there may be two different voltages (11.1V and 14.8V) associated with the same model or part number. They are totally NOT compatible. Please check your original battery voltage before placing an order.

A Li-Ion battery labeled 10.8V is the same as a Li-Ion battery labeled 11.1V.
A Li-Ion battery labeled 14.4V is the same as a Li-Ion battery labeled 14.8V.

this above is what is quoted under how to find the correct product tab

this is not a typo

Does anyone know how to check what voltage the battery should be when you do not have the original battery ?

"Please kindly note that there may be two different voltages (11.1V and 14.8V) associated with the same model or part number. "

That is not correct.   There will not be two voltages in published specifications under the same HP part number. Batteries are manufactured by companies for HP for laptops.  The product must meet all of the standards and specifications stated in the request for bid which matches a very specific HP part number. Take a close look at any HP part number for a battery.

Go to an HP Service Center and ask or take a look at the Maintenance & Service Guide for your notebook in chapter 3.

People in marketing do make mistakes when they are trying to sell a product.
