I can't imagine why you woudn't have the com ports working.
Did you install the AMD chipset drivers?
If not, I suggest you do...install and restart the PC.
You want the first driver listed on the webpage.

You would not have a serial or parallel port so unless you have a device with a virtual com port like a usb to serial adapter there would not be any COM ports. What are you trying to connect through a COM port?

i will install the amd drivers above and try it then
its a pc mainly for automotive diagnostic dutys, and the interface i use once installed should show up in the device manager in the list of ports and i have to select a port and test it before use (im presuming it does utilise a vrtual com port via usb)
