#3 M.2 SATA. Make sure that it is a (TLC) memory type. "models with i7 processors and 4 GB discrete graphics memory only"

Hi,

M.2 2280 SATA-3 SSD slot is available for upgrade.

Page 1, 2, 20, 42, 43 in the Manual

Major disassembly should be done to do the upgrade.

Reading other users posts and some Amazon reviews , it seems that the m.2 sata slot was disabled by HP

Hi,

Which user? In the thread I linked above,

@-Giro- the original poster, has posted like this:
"..for first this is an image of my M.2 SATA SSD (Samsung 850 Evo 500GB)
I've installed OS on it and work as .....SATA3 drive."

I think M.2 SATA-3 SSD upgradation is successful for the member.

YOu are right... the user says that at the end obtained to install Windows on his Sasmung evo, but he doesn't say how he did, and another user, with same model as mine, 15-ae107nl, said that he tried Crucial mx300 and Samsung evo and no results. I don't know what to think

I don't know if It works on your model,, but this is mine:

Prep the drive by booting to a USB Windows installation flash drive and using the command line.

Use the diskpart utility to setup your M.2 flash drive.

The desktop I am typing this on has Windows 10 Pro Insider edition on a 256 GB  Samsung NVME M.2 SSD.

I described how that is done in a sticky in the notebook hardware\upgrade section of the forum. The details on how to do it are there.
