hp da-1030tu Product number: 5PC90PA#ACJ supports m.2 nvme ssd of gen5 or not

Hi everyone, i wanted to know that my 15-da1030tu laptop ,Product number: 5PC90PA#ACJ  will support m.2 pcie nvme ssd of gen5 with already installed 1tb hdd and if so then which company ssd should i purchase...... its an old laptop i want to do some high level coding and need good amount of storage also for some purpose thats why i need to upgrade it please reply if anyone has knowledge about this notebook .... asap guys.... as its an urgent requirement

A PCIe Gen 5.0 drive will work in your notebook, but since the M.2 slot is only PCIe Gen 3.0, the drive will not perform anywhere near its advertised read/write speeds.

The maximum transfer speed a PCIe Gen 3.0 slot can provide is 4,000 MBPS.

So, if you were wanting to install a Gen 5.0 SSD for maximum performance, a Gen 3 SSD will perform just as well.

I did a comparison of prices between the P3 Gen 3 and the P310 Gen 4.

In the USA, the P310 costs less than the P3

But in India, I see the 1 TB P3 Gen 3.0  costs ₹5,900...

...and the P310 costs ₹6,652.

If you plan on moving the Gen 4.0 SSD to a newer PC in the future, you may want to spend the slightly higher amount of money for that one.

If not, I would go with the P3, which is an excellent performing drive.

You also can save more money if you don't need a 1 TB drive and only go with a 500 GB one instead.

Hi Paul... 

I checked my notebooks official service and maintenance pdf file from hp website only... There it is shown that my laptop's... M. 2 interface is ATA-7 

To be totally 100 percent sure i am checking everywhere because there is no return policy of cruical nvem 3.0 ssd.. Please confirm paul..  I am sending two images of the only slot and space left empty in my laptop please confirm if it is a sata m.2 or nvem m.2... As i can see its having an m- key which is for nvem only,

  But i don't know why hp does such blunders.... That too on their official site.. Please paul tell me at earliest. 

And Sorry for asking out every other day. I should have asked with the images at first only.. But i am still new to this community i learned about the image sending thing today only..

Hi:

All you need to do is to read chapter 1, page 3 of the service manual which indicates:

PCIe, NVMe, M.2 solid-state drives (Intel Core processors):

Your notebook has an Intel Intel Core i5 8th Gen 8265U processor correct?

If so then a M.2 NVMe SSD is supported in accordance with the above specification.

That's all you need to know.
