Welcome to our HP community forum!
An i7-740QM (TDP: 45-watt) is compatible for sure, as this HP EliteBook 8440p User showed, and perhaps an i7-920XM and the i7-940XM (TDP: 55-watt), though I was unable to verify the latter two's compatibility with your laptop.
If you want to boldly go where (maybe) no one has gone before, you could try: it will either work or doesn't work.
The main reason why an i7-920XM/940XM would be excluded from your platform, is the high TDP. These processors obviously would run a lot hotter than 35/45-watt processors.
Kind Regards,

So thank you for advice! I accepted your solution!
P.S. If someone tried 55 watt i7 , please leave your experience here
Thanks again!
