My laptop is only days old and has an issue with the fan. It keeps running continously and the back of the laptop is ridiculously hot. The sound also stopped working and required a restart to get working again. Can anyone help figure out how to solve this issue?
Cheers

@shellyc05
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
The most common cause of overheating is the accumulation of dust inside the laptop. The electrical components in a notebook generate heat and fans inside the notebook help move the air to keep the components cooled to normal operating temperatures.
- Have you tried removing dust and lint by cleaning vents?
- Have you tried placing the notebook in a cooler room?
- Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
While you respond to that, let's run BIOS Update: Follow steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
