Hi all,
I can't seem to find any information regarding the possibility of adding a second hard drive to my laptop. Best Buy says no, not possible. I found one post on this forum from a user who said that he did. Can I please have a conclusive answer to this question? And what spare parts would I need? Thanks!

You have a 256 gig NVME M.2 disk:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06017672
Here is the Service Manual:
See p. 33. You need a ultrathin 7mm 2.5 inch hard drive and the rubber sleeve and cable assembly.
The hard drive cable is available using spare part number L21894-001
The hard drive rubber sleeve is available using spare part number L20103-001
Unfortunately these spare parts with numbers beginning with "L" are just not widely available.
Post back and let us know where you live (country) and we can keep trying to hunt it down for you. Some are resorting to using parts from older models and trying to modify them to work.

Thanks for the prompt reply and advice Huffer!
I live in the US and would really appreciate if you could keep me posted if you gather updated information!
It would also be helpful to know what parts from older models are others users finding, and what are the modifications that they make to have them to work.

You can try something like this and the modification is no more than you might have to fold or bend the cable to get it oriented correctly.
You can also just seach eBay for HP hard drive cable:

Hi Batcito,
it would be very helpful if you could post what are the parts that you bought so that others could do the same...as far as how to add a second hard drive there are a couple of Youtube videos (for similar models) that you could check.
Thanks

I have same problem on hp envy x360 convertible. I add an extra SSD(1 TB), when I turn on the laptop, it doesn't recognize my new SSD beside the old SSD (250GB). It said another SSD (250GB) is on and cannot turn SSD(1TB). How can I turn on my new SSD and set it to secondary hard drive?

Please start your own thread and let us know in a bit more detail what you did. Give us the exact model number and give us the type and models of SSDs you are talking about and how you hooked them up and anything else pertinent.
