Hi, I was thinking that after I received the Sata adapter from Amazon and I transfer all my files to the SSD, I might want to put it into the other DV7 that I bought from Ebay that has the faster processor instead of my old one.
But I ran into this problem when I received it, I hooked it up to my charger and it would not power on. It only made a beeping sound. But my charger is only 65W and the one that's meant for that Ebay DV7 is 95W, because its A8-3520 processor draws more. Could that be the reason why it won't power on?
Thanks

Yes, I believe that under-powering is almost certainly the cause of the beeping.
The 90 watt DV7 power supplies are inexpensive, you can get a new one for less than $11 via eBay, such as this example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/162440911964?hash=item25d23b9c5c:g:SuwAAOSwgkRVUs4i&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAA8G....

OK thanks, I went ahead and ordered it.
I have another (dumb) question: if I do want to go ahead and transfer the loaded up new 3D SSD NAND 1T drive to the DV 7 I bought off of Ebay with the faster processor, will my Windows 7 transfer over? I'm pretty sure the answer is no, but if you look at the screen shot of the one I bought off of Ebay you'll see that it says "Installed OS: Win7". Does that mean that it has Win7 on it although there is no hard drive inside of it?

May I remind you that there are no dumb questions, only questions that haven't been asked.
The short answer is that you can certainly try. If Windows considers it an 'identical hardware swap', your DV7 should boot without any issues. However, if the two PCs don’t have identical hardware (which is usually the case) then you will encounter a notification something like this: “move HDD to new computer in Windows 7 won’t boot” error due to driver incompatibility, and your Windows 7 OS will need to be activated again.
You can try to activate Windows 7 without a product key/if you don't know what the W7 product key is -assuming you can access CMD:
1.) Go the Windows start menu and search CMD.
2.) Right-click on the option and Run as administrator.
3.) After the Command Prompt window opens, enter the command: slmgr -rearm
4.) The DV7 will ask you to restart the PC. Do it immediately.
5.) After your DV7 restarts, run CMD as administrator again. This time, you should enter the command: slmgr -ato
6.) If you see the message: “successful activation of Windows 7” appears, it means you have activated Windows 7 successfully, a small victory in the grand scheme of things.
If the aforementioned steps don't work, see if the following steps work for you: Windows 7 license - Microsoft Community
If this doesn't work, there are various inexpensive ways how to obtain a legit/working Windows license I would not be able to discuss in this Forum.
Hope this was helpful.

By the way, if there is no drive, then there is no OS either, other than the notification that W7 was once factory installed. It takes a drive with an OS to run any computer.

OK, well that's certainly interesting because that would mean that when he took this picture it DID have a hard drive installed, and for some reason he removed it afterwards before he sold and shipped it to me.
But if you notice in the description, he states: "boots to bios". I purchased this laptop assuming that "boots to bios" meant that there was something wrong with the computer, and that it was being sold merely for parts, but now I'm not so sure - maybe it does work. Initially I intended to take the parts off of it and transfer them over to my current DV 7, but now that I've decided that removing the processor might be an undertaking too big for me, I hope it does work once I connect the charger, install the ram, and transfer over the SSD drive.
And although he stated that it did not have a charger, and he did not include one in the shipment, he must've hooked up a charger to the laptop in order to take the picture as well. (I've tried communicating with him a couple of days ago but he has not answered).
I guess I will have to wait until I receive the charger I ordered before I find out.
Thanks.

Hi, I received the charger today from
Ebay but I still have the same problem.
I made a small recording and tried to upload it here but I could not figure out how to do it, so I uploaded onto my Youtube channel. Here's the link:

Thanks!

My friend, I am hearing:
long short short beeps
long long long short short (2x) beeps.
Unfortunately, I am short on time at this moment, please look at these links in the meanwhile:
1.) Solved: 3 long beeps, 2 short beeps - HP Support Community - 8098485
2.) (1228) HP 3 Long Beeps and 2 Short Beeps | HP Beep Sound Code | PC 5 Beeps No Display - YouTube
I am hopeful that either link may shed light on your issue.

And for the 1 long beep and 2 short beeps: Video Card Error.
If your laptop has a discrete video card, please check for proper install.
If there isn't a video card even though it should, and your processor doesn't have integrated graphics, that could be the issue.
Otherwise, sadly, I am suspecting that your motherboard could be defective.
Need to run now.
