cant find manual on line to tell how laptop is assembled.i.e. blow-up diagram. this unit dose not have access panel.

15-p099nr is the model.
See p. 116. This is one of the models where memory upgrade is a bloody mess. You have to remove the motherboard.

downloaded manual to zip drive as well as pc.again thank you.being how my unit is out of warenty this is a most have. haveing said that would like to know your thoughs on me installing the ram myself.... have worked on many desktop types ie installing rams,drives,fans,ect my father in law (he,s 85)and i love doing this togather.am up on safty stepps and do touch.dont touch.but this is first laptop.like i said its mine so will not get shot if i goof.will be running manual on second pc while serviceing this one. would like your input.and again thank you Emobe

The hard part is separating the plastic chassis panels...it takes a bit of a "touch" and knowing just how much force to apply. Also the right tools are key. Get a good set of plastic "spudger" tools and good magnetized screwdrivers. If you can follow the instructions and keep track of where the screws came from you will be OK. Putting it back together is harder than tearing it apart. This video is very good. The tech follows proper procedures:
