I wish to copy old vhs camcorder tapes from analog to digital.  will elgato video capture work with this computer.. ....dont want to spend money if not.

Some people says it does and other say that it wouldnt work with windows 10 but I cant find info for windows 11

Its not the capture software that's going to cause you problems its the hardware interface. What kind of device do you have to translate the old VHS to digital? Many of them want a firewire (IEEE1394) port and those have not been a thing for a while. I keep an older laptop with such a port around just for video capture.

Few years back, I transferred some my old VHS tapes to my computer using an adapter which is similar to the following one

 

         VHS to PC Adapter

 

I gave it to my friend after my project. Just make a phone call, he confirmed it worked.
