So you are preparing to disagree even before understanding?

1) No, the software can not "crash" because of slow processor. It can fail to fulfill some realtime tasks... but Windows is not a realtime OS, which makes the latter questionable... I mean, why not 4Ghz, or 8Ghz, or 16 GHz? usually the bottleneck is not CPU, but I/O. Intel CPUs are overkill for most "controller" tasks.

2)The software can crash because of memory subsystem. Systems equipped with large amounts of unbuffered RAM are affected by this problem more often than most users suspect.

3)Of course, there is a chance of damage to OS, or malfunctioning driver. Damaged OS is fixed by OS restore. If a driver can not be updated to working state (and in windows 10 drivers are updated automatically) - it is also a service case.

4)Programs can crash because of damaged CPU, or more often, because of damaged cooling system... which is still rare on modern CPU's
