Hi - I can't seem to get any of my mp3's to be recognized by my laptop (I tried 2 different laptops, 2 different mp3 and a few different cords). It will charge the mp3 when plugging into the USB _ but it will not open it in Windows Explorer like it used to and show the files/folders. I have reinstalled Windows 11, I have tried looking through Device Management and Disk Manager, nothing is helping.
Anybody else have this issue with Windows 11?

You will need to install an MP3 player software with the right codecs.
Just do a search online for MP3 player software Windows 11.

Hi Erico - Thank you for responding. I'm not looking to play the files on the mp3 player, I'm trying to view them in Windows Explorer - you think just to see what's on the player I need player software? Currently, the computer just allows the player to charge, but doesn't show it as another drive which it used to do

" you think just to see what's on the player I need player software"
You did not share that the MP3 files were on a player.
You also did not share what kind of player you are using and which type of connection it has to your PC.
You might have to turn the player on to view the files in it.
Put them on a USB flash drive to see if they are recognized by Windows Explorer.
To see MP3 extension files in Windows Explorer
"In the search box on the taskbar, type file explorer, and in the search results, select File Explorer. In File Explorer under View, in the Show/hide group, select the File name extensions check box."
The issue appears to be with your MP3 media player.

Hi Erico - I apologize for not specifying that these are players, and not just files
I tried with three different mp3 players (two sandisk jams and one samvix) - they used to automatically open in Windows Explorer and have a drive letter assigned to them, and I was able to view the folders and files on the mp3 players. They connect via a usb cable - I used two different ones to see if the cable - and I tried it on multiple computers (however both were on Windows 11) - the players charge, but the computer doesn't see the device as an external drive and show me the files/folders on the players. That's what I'm struggling with - in the past, I would plug them in via USB cable, and Windows Explorer would pop up with the new drive and I would be able to copy/past/delete/organize the files on the player. Now it just charges.

I suggest going to the manufacturer's support websites to see if there are firmware upgrades available.
