Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

i have been looking into upgrading the storage cappacity of ym laptop and was looking into fitting it with a 500gb m.2 nvme ssd however have seen posts saying that the the recomended capacity was 256gb was wondering if it is even posible to  fit the laptop with 500gb nvme ssd after seeing that. 

help would be appreciated.

What is generation of your elite book 840 ? I believe current generation is G5

i beleve that my generation is a G1

On the 840 G1 the only M.2 it will support is for use as a "flash cache" accelerating a mechanical hard drive and that would be a 2242 form factor SATA M.2 SSD:

 

2242 form factor SATA M.2 SSD2242 form factor SATA M.2 SSD

 

If you find yours is something other than G1 the answer would be different. Can you find the product number on the bottom of the laptop?
