I have 4GB RAM and need to add additional 4GB.
Please let me know the maximum RAM support on my model
HP Pavilion 15-p018tu
and how many slots are available,
can I upgrade 8 GB RAM on single slot ?

Here is the Manual:
Two SODIMM memory module slots (select models only) DDR3L-1600 MHz dual channel support
You have the i3 processor so yours is 2 slots. The stated maximum is 12 gigs, i.e. a 4 gig and an 8 gig but experience has shown it can accept 2 x 8 gig modules for 16 gigs total.
Memory access is very tricky and requires motherboard removal.
See p. 116
