Pavilion g6
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

HI there, I have a pavilion g6 bought in 2015. In 2017 HP fixed a memory failure and again now I ran a memory extensive test and  a failure code 90ABGF-6HK9M6-MFPX1A-401NO3 came up. My Laptop has 2 Memory modules Bottom 2 gig on lower primary and 4 gig on top secondary. Can anyone help me with how to determine whether the lower 2gig module needs to be replaced or the 4 gig module.

thanks

Hi:

Unfortunately, we can't because the code you received translates to this...Memory Module Failure (no DIMM id)

So what I do to test memory modules and I'm not sure which one is no good, is to remove one of the memory modules, and run the PC off the remaining one.

If I continue to have issues with the memory module, I remove that one, and install the other one and test it.

Most likely only one is bad, and you have a 50-50 chance of yanking the bad one first.

If the chip is really bad, the PC may not even boot up.

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.   The memory module R & R procedure can be found in chapter 4.
