At this point, let google be your friend because I have no idea why the command works on my PC and not yours.

The author must be running Windows 11, one of the last two versions. But the answer is 32GBs. The easiest way to check this data on current Windows versions is by using HWiNFO (Smbios DMI).

We haven't disagreed on anything. I merely linked to a previous discussion where on these systems the command gave 32GBs. If you're running 24H2 or 25H2 the wmic command is not available (without workarounds).
This is the way to get the feature back: Install WMIC “Feature on Demand” in Windows 11.

I don't doubt this. I stopped at 23H2 and have this as well as Win10 -which is my main OS. I'm just telling you what I've read about 24H2 and especially 25H2. Other features are missing too. Perhaps you installed or updated something that re-enabled it.

It's possible.
I have given that command to several other forum members with PC's that have shipped with W11 24H2.
A small amount of folks have gotten errors running that command on various operating systems--like 1 in 50.
I don't troubleshoot problems like that.
There are other ways to get that information such as installing the HP support assistant software.

Agreed.
I'm only mentioning this because these types of errors with wmic are bound to happen more often here: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/What-kind-of-ram-should-I-choo....

Yes, I have read the same info as well.
Fortunately, I haven't been affected by that change yet for some reason, and I am running the latest version of 25H2 (26200.7019) on all of my PCs--all but one of them are not supported to run W11.
Also unless the OP is running W11 on the 15-bs029ne using a workaround like I did to get it to install, the PC does not meet Microsoft's minimum W11 hardware requirements.
