hp g6 1b79dx

hi 

i currently use a 15 inch hp g6 1b79dx andi wanted to replacemy motherboard and cpuy and was able to locate both parts

 

when finally recieving the motherboard and trying to instal it it did not fit into the bottom case. there arent any alternative repolacement parts for this can you plase help?

 

 

the motherboard is replacement part 636375 intel hm65

cpu i5-2540m

 

if you could refer me to model that had this configuration  it would help me find that case easier

And it uses PC board (motherboard part number   653087-001 as shown:

 

    http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?SearchText=LW259UA

 

Now you are trying to use a TOTALLY different motherboard and different CPU that why it won't fit .  636375 is not a complete part number. Asuming it is 636375-001,  there are 98 models/products use this board including many g6's:

 

    http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?SearchText=636375-001

thank 

yes i was using the hp g6 replacement part manual and it gives all accepable replacement parts for the series. I was just thinking the only difference would be between the amd cpu and intel and if you have an intel board all of the bolts should line up. Not an issue will just find the botttomcase now thanks for the link on the models. much appreciated.
