Hi:

Yes, what you want to do should work as long as you can find and buy the following parts listed in chapter 3 of your notebook's service manual:

For use in HP Notebook models (Discrete graphics memory; non-touch screen

You may as well go for the i7-7500U processor motherboard.

Intel Core i7-7500U processor and 4 GB of discrete graphics memory (R7M1-70)  HP part # 903786-601 (Windows 10 product key in BIOS).

Heat sink assembly

For use in models with discrete graphics memory and 7th generation Intel processors   HP part # 903806-001

But if you want to just install the i7-6500u, 4gb graphics memory, 854932-001 (no product key in the BIOS) and the heat sink for that motherboard, that would be fine too.

Heat sink assembly:

For use in models with discrete graphics memory and 5th or 6th generation Intel Core processors  HP part # 815238-001

You will also need the 65W adapter as the discrete graphics uses more wattage.

And you may want to opt for the 4-cell battery, because if your notebook has the 3-cell battery, it will have a shorter period before you have to charge it again.

A question please. the i7 7500u is a cdl50 la d707p and my i3 6006u is bdl50 la d704p. it does not have to be the same?

The CPU is an integral part of the motherboard and cannot be removed or replaced.

So if you buy the Intel 6th gen motherboard, the i7 6th gen core processor is soldered to it.

So, you may as well buy the Intel 7th gen core processor motherboard.

If the 6th gen processors were removable, they would not work in the motherboard designed for the Intel 7th gen core processors.

But since they are not removable, it doesn't matter.
