My mute button light does not turn on. Button still works!! just does not light up..

Hi,

 

The function of the Mute led is provided by the Realtek software package, so download and reinstall the audio package on the following link.

 

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp81001-81500/sp81305.exe

 

When the installation has completed, restart the notebook.

Hi,

 

Can you post back with the full Model No. and Product No. of your notebook - you can usually get this by holding down the fn key and pressing esc, otherwise see Here for a guide on locating this information.
