Hard Disk Sentinel says my NVMe hard disk health is at 76% with 478 days of estimated life left. I have no experience with this type of hard drive so I don't know if death is sudden and data can't be retrieved or what. When should I replace it?

You are fine. These SSD health tests are based on a presumed maximum number of reads and writes to each sector of the SSD. The number is very conservative and you are 76% of the way there. In reality, SSDs are outlasting original predictions. The SSD health monitor will warn you if anything is amiss. They generally do not "just die" and give some warning of problems, but I can't 100% guarantee that. I would check it every month or so and make a judgment as the numbers creep up. You are at least a year from that point.

I reviewed your post and I understand that the hard drive health is showing 76% and you want to know when to replace the hard drive.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
Where are you checking this information?
What is the product number of your computer?
Usually, you will see a SMART hard drive error on startup in case if there is an issue with the hard drive. To understand the hard drive functionality, you can run the HP hardware diagnostics and it will tell you in case if there is an issue with the hard drive.
Refer to the below article to run the test.

That test appears to be for hardware failure. This isn't the case. It has not failed yet which is why i'm asking if anyone is familiar with SSD failure. Do they just stop working or is it possible to salvage data like you can sometimes do with a regular HD? At what point should I consider replacing the SSD, at 50% or less?
